ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS

When Mother's Day comes around, it can be a time of struggle for us women as we analyze our lives. In our desire to be the best women and mothers that we can be, we can tend to carry too much or feel that we must control everything around us to keep our loved ones safe and well. Thankfully, God has promised us that HE is the one in control, and that our job is to trust Him. This can be so hard at times, but as we yield to Him, we will continue to learn not to fear or try to control the trials or bad news that come our way, but to have a steadfast heart that trusts in God.
Take a moment right now to release to Him what you are carrying yourself, for He cares for you!  

"They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes."

• Lainey's Baby Shower is happening this Saturday here at OLC from 2:00-4:00 pm! All ladies are invited! If you are planning to attend and didn't put your name on the sign-up sheet, please text Becky Overn (403-715-2808) so they know how many people to expect! (If you would like to bless Lainey with a gift, you can find her registry HERE.)

• The Lethbridge Pregnancy Care Centre's "Baby Bottle Campaign" has begun! Join us from now until Father's Day in helping provide finances for the centre by filling a bottle (available in the Connect Hub) with cash or cheques, or by donating online! We're thrilled to partner with this amazing ministry that is helping to provide care and a safe place for those experiencing unexpected pregnancies in our community. • We're putting on a free lunch here at the church for all of our seniors after the Sunday service on May 26th! There will also be a Hymn Sing after lunch for all who want to participate! *Donations will be accepted for the youth, who will be making and serving lunch!

• We're planning our VBS for July, and we need volunteers to make it happen! If you would like to help out, please let Pastor Mitch know! 

• YWAM Medicine Hat is coming to put on a youth night on May 31st at 7:00 pm! This will be a night of worship and empowering our young people in their faith, and we're very excited for it!
