Connecting Lives, Building Faith, Releasing Destiny
ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
In Him My Heart Trusts Imagine that you are walking down an old mountain road. Majestic pine trees line both sides for as far as you can see. The mountain air is quiet and peaceful. There is the faint sound of birds calling in the distance. You continue walking along the road as it twists and turns this way and that. You don't see any signs that would show directions, and there are no signs of civilization in sight. Suddenly, a multitude of questions fill your mind: How long before the next town or main road? Will there be dangers along the way? Places to rest or to get food? You strain to look ahead, but all you can see is the sky above you, the trees around you, and the road in front of you.
Oftentimes, our journeys in life feel a lot like that mountain road. We can't see very far ahead, and we often don't know what we will face.
What we can know, though, is that God has promised to be with us through every twist and turn in life. Even when we feel overwhelmed and anxious about the road ahead.
Isaiah 41:10 says, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (NIV)
So, when you find yourself on one of those old mountain roads that feel isolated and unknown, remember that you have the best guide that anyone could hope to have in life, and He will strengthen you and direct your steps.
"The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song, I give thanks to Him."Psalm 28:7 ESV
