ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
Warming Up
As the days get a little shorter and the cool nip in the air comes around more and more often, we begin to naturally gravitate to the things that warm us up.
A warm cup of coffee or tea, a crackling fireplace, and a cozy blanket or sweater are a few things that come to mind. We might even cook up a delicious pot of soup to have for supper.
Things that warm us up in the cold are comforting and we appreciate the warmth that they bring.
What are some other things that can warm us up? Not just in the physical sense, but warming to our hearts? A kind or encouraging word from someone in our lives, or a promise that God highlights to us in His Word. There are so many small things that can warm our hearts the same way soup warms our stomachs. They warm us from the inside out.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 says this:
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." (NASB)
Once we have received warmth and comfort in our own lives, let's bring that warmth to others in small ways. Call someone up and encourage them this week, or bring them a warm cup of coffee or tea. Let's encourage and comfort those around us with the love and comfort that God has given us! Let's warm up a room - and the hearts that are in it.

September 20th at 2:00 PM at OLC.
If you are bringing squares or cookies, please drop them off at the church either on Thursday between 10 AM and 4:30 PM or on Friday by noon. Thank you  Senior's Breakfast is on this week! September 19th at 9:30 am at the Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre.
