ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
Preach the Good News to Everyone
One of the last things that Jesus commanded His disciples to do before He ascended into heaven was to go and preach the gospel so that others would hear it and be saved.
In Mark 16:15, Jesus commanded His disciples to "Go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone."
And in Matthew 28:19, He says Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
God's heart is to have a relationship with every soul on this earth!
We may feel like it's a daunting task to go out and preach the gospel to those around us. What if we do it wrong and they reject us? What if they ask questions that we don't know how to answer?
We may also think, I'm not a missionary or an evangelist, so how can I reach others effectively with the gospel?
These are questions that have probably gone through all of our minds at one time or another, making us hesitant to reach out. But remember, sometimes, the best way to witness to those around us has less to do with making the perfect speech and more about just living out our faith authentically to those around us every day. Here are a couple of ideas on how we can bring Christ's invitation to those around us:
1. Talk to People
When you have an opportunity, stop and talk to someone outside of your regular circle. It could be someone at work or while waiting in line at a store or for an appointment. Ask them about their day and take the time to listen to what they have to say.
2. Bring God into the Conversation:
So often, we tend to leave God out of our conversations with those out in the world because we don't want to offend them or have them think we are being pushy. But, there are so many ways we can bring God into our everyday conversations, without being pushy. For example, we can share something that God did in our lives recently or something that we are learning from the bible. Look for opportunities to make it a natural part of the conversation. Who knows where it might go from there? Even if they don't seem interested, don't be discouraged. Just because we can't see what the seeds we plant are doing, doesn't mean they won't be effective.
Lord, lead us to someone this week who we can connect with and share your love with!
