Connecting Lives, Building Faith, Releasing Destiny
ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
Our Journey Of Faith ... As we read stories in the Bible of people who operated in great faith and trust in God, (Abraham, Noah, and Esther to name a few), it can be easy to forget that their journeys in faith were no less challenging than our own.
We can marvel at their stories, yet look at our own lives of faith and question if we're really walking out a faith journey as amazing and impactful as the ones we read about.
Take Noah for example. The Bible says that Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at that time, and he walked in close fellowship with God. (Genesis 6:9 NLT)
Noah spent time with God, and at some point, God told him to build a large boat - when it had never rained before - and to fill it with animals, food, and supplies and then take his family with him on the boat to be saved from a giant flood that would consume the whole earth!
We read that and immediately start rooting for Noah because we already know the end of the story. We know that everything happened the way God said it would. We know that he should obey at all costs - because we can see how disastrous the results would've been had he refused.
The thing is, Noah most likely didn't know every detail of what following God would look like and how it would all play out. He just knew what God told him. Our faith journeys are much the same. We have to trust that following God is right, even if we don't yet know the end of the story. And what if having faith in God and obeying His instructions is just as important for us as it was for Noah? Let's be inspired to have faith in God!
