Connecting Lives, Building Faith, Releasing Destiny
In Philippians 3, Paul talks about "forgetting what lies behind" and "pressing forward." It's important to realize that in life we can either run away from something or run towards something. Paul ran towards the call of God on his life, but sometimes we find ourselves running for the wrong reason. If we are constantly in motion in order to avoid dealing with what is behind us, then we will never have peace and purpose on the road. On the other hand, if we avoid moving forward for fear of repeating past mistakes, we will miss out on what God has for us. As we learn to find peace and healing where are right now, we can move forward in that peace and wholeness as we pursue the call of God on our lives!
"Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
