Connecting Lives, Building Faith, Releasing Destiny
ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
HOW DOES YOUR FAITH AFFECT YOUR LIFE? When we invite Jesus into our lives, we are not only choosing a new way of believing, but are also choosing a new way of living. James describes faith without works as being dead. Imagine for a moment the difference between a dead and a living tree. A tree that is alive is continually growing, and it provides shade and fruit for those around it. On the other hand, a tree that is dead will no longer grow. It will no longer bear any fruit, grow leaves, or spread it's seeds. It is similar with our faith. To live out our faith through works is to allow God to change us & grow us, and in doing so positively affect the lives of those around us. To live a life of faith is not to remain stagnant, but to continuously become transformed into the image of God.
"What use is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith, but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them 'Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,' yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? In the same way, faith also, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself ." James 2:14-17 NASB
