ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
I Know the Plans...
September is just around the corner. For many, this means the start of a whole new year of plans. Time to bring out the calendars, the calculators, and start planning out the year ahead. Work, school, meals, activities, etc. The whirlwind of organizing and scheduling begins!
In the midst of our noble quest to fit 425 things into a mere 7 days in the week, we may not often stop to think about the fact that we aren't the only ones who have plans for each week.
The bible reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11, that God also has plans for our lives.
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
Let's stop for a minute and think about what that means. The God of the universe, the Lord of all creation has plans - specific plans - for each of us. And they are good plans!
Sometimes, we can focus only on the big picture of God's plans, like which job to take or which school to attend? Those definitely may be a big part of His plan for you, but there may also be very specific things each day that He has in mind for you to do.
So, as we begin scheduling and planning out our fall season, let's take a few minutes and ask the Lord what His plans are for our day, our week, and our year, and let's make room for His plans. We can be assured they will be good!
