ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
The Sacrifice Of Love ... When Jesus went to the cross, there was so much that He gave us - salvation, becoming a new creation in Him, the gift of a personal relationship with God, and so much more!
It's good to ponder on the amazing, wonderful things that Christ has done for us, and to give Him praise for them!
While it is important to remember the blessings, it's also important that we ponder on the immense sacrifice that Christ made for us as well. The obedience it took to bear the shame and brutality of the cross was a very heavy thing to bear - heavier than anything any of us have ever had to face.
The resurrection is a celebration of unspeakable joy that was preceded by unimaginable sacrifice.
Sacrifice and joy often go together.
In the book of John, Jesus uses a picture of a seed dying and being planted in the ground to remind us that suffering and laying down our lives in whatever way God calls us often prepares the way for amazing harvest - both in our lives and those around us.
I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels - a plentiful harvest of new lives. - John 12:24 (NLT)
As Easter approaches, let's take time to ponder the sacrifice of love that Christ made for us, and celebrate with joy His resurrection!
"... unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels - a plentiful harvest of new lives." John 12:24 (NLT)
