ENCOURAGING THOUGHTS
WHAT DO YOUR WORDS MEAN TO YOU?
Do your actions follow the words that you say? In the sermon on the mount, Jesus spoke about the heart of keeping our word. He said that our "yes" or "no" should have the same weight to it as making a promise or vow, for the exact words that we say are of secondary importance to what is in our hearts when we say them. Are we looking for ways around our words to justify a lack of commitment to them, or are we seeking to live a life of integrity and honor? When we live with integrity, there should be no difference between a promise and a simple "yes."
"But let your 'yes' be 'yes,' and your 'no' be 'no.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.'"
Matthew 5:37
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Our Engage Youth bottle drive is still going on! Bring your bottles to the church to help our youth raise money for future events! Bring them in by this Sunday, or let Pastor Mitch know if you want your bottles to be picked up from your house: 403-331-8684. Your donations are much appreciated!
- Remember, this Sunday is Daylight Savings time! Turn your clocks an hour ahead!
- We're having a Pot Bless after the service on Sunday! Please bring enough food to share.
- We're having a Water Baptism during the service on March 19th! Talk to Pastor Wayne if you are interested in getting baptized.
- We're having another round of Plan to Protect sessions for those who could not attend last time. If you are a volunteer at One Life Church and didn't take the course in February, we ask that you please attend one of the sessions coming up on March 24th & 25th. Once again, Friday evening will be a refresher course for those who have taken the course in previous years, and Saturday morning/afternoon is for those who have never taken it. Sign-up sheets are in the Connect Hub. Talk to Pastor Mitch for more information!
