 Our God is called "the God of peace." Through Jesus, we become at peace with God when we believe and give our lives to Him, yet when we receive the Spirit of God, we find that the things in our lives that do not align with God suddenly cause tension within us! The habits, hurts, beliefs, and attitudes that have become a part of our lifestyle and worldview can hinder us in our ability to live as the Bible instructs us, but thankfully God doesn't just leave us there! The one who called us into peace with Him also desires to bring peace and wholeness into these areas of struggle and tension that we face in our broken world. Our God is faithful, and as we continually surrender our brokeness to Him, He will do in us what we cannot: bring healing and peace from the inside out.
"May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it."
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- We encourage you to register for our "Set Free Retreat" coming up next week! As I wrote above, we have all walked through hurts & battles, bringing "baggage" into our lives, and this retreat will provide you with the Biblical tools and safe space in the presence of God to help you experience breakthrough and healing from the things that are keeping you from living in freedom!
The cost for this event is $55 a person or $100 for a couple to cover the meals plus the materials used throughout the retreat. To register, fill out a registration form found in the Connect Hub and send your payment to events@onelifechurch.ca, specifying who you're paying for! We hope to see you there!
- Our "Ladies' Night Out" is happening this Thursday (April 20th) at 7:00 pm! Ladies, join us for a night of fun, fellowship, and ministry, and bring a plate of treats to share!
- Two other events are also taking place this Thursday! Our Seniors Breakfast is happening at 9:30 am at the Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre, and a City-Wide Youth worship night is happening at 7:00 pm at UDAC!
- We're so excited to be hosting a concert by the Canadian Christian band "The Color" on May 25th! Tickets are available starting at just $11.98 at this link here. Join us for a fun and worship-filled night for the whole family!
