Iron Sharpens Iron
We don't always know the impact that some people have in our lives until years later, sometimes after they have passed away. We look back and think, wow. I would not be who I am today without them.

They are friends who know us well. They know our quirks and what motivates us. They know our strengths and our weaknesses. They've stood with us in our finest hour and our most trying circumstances.  

And they tell us the truth. Even the truth we don't want to hear. They challenge us to become better. To overcome obstacles and destructive habits. To build better relationships and grow in our faith. 

The Bible uses a picture of two pieces of iron, sharpening each other when discussing friendship.

Proverbs 27:17 says As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

Thank you, God, for those good friends in our lives who are there for us and push us to grow in our faith and our character. Lord, may each of us become an iron-sharpening friend for someone else as well.

ANNOUNCEMENTS​

We are having a Baby Dedication on Sunday, February 16! If you have a baby or child that you would like to dedicate to the Lord at our service, talk to Pastor Wayne or Pastor Mitchell.

Come on out to see Steve Bell in concert at OLC on Saturday, February 22nd at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $25 and will be available at the Connect Hub, or you can talk to Pastor Mitchell. 10% of the proceeds are going toward the Ethiopia Missions Trip!

There will be a special Water Baptism Service coming up on Sunday, March 16th at OLC! If you or anyone you know wants to be baptized, talk to Pastor Wanye or contact the church.
