God's Big Picture
One of the reasons why being out in God's creation - specifically in the mountains - is so inspiring is because everything is so big! We are surrounded by thousands of trees towering above us, giant rocky cliffs and waterfalls that plunge beneath us, and a wide open sky that continues on and on around us.

There's something about stepping out of our familiar, everyday landscape that allows us to see the bigger picture. Suddenly, the worries and challenges of the day don't seem quite so overwhelming. 

Why is that? Perhaps, it's because we have shifted our focus to look at something bigger than what we were looking at before. Our worries can grow in our minds like wildfire when we allow them to have free reign, but when we focus on something bigger, (in the case above, the mountainous surroundings), the other things that were built up in our minds become smaller in contrast. 

In Isaiah 55:9, God reminds us that His ways and His thoughts are far higher and bigger than our thoughts.

For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

God invites us to discover His bigger picture and perspective for our lives!

Just like being surrounded by big and beautiful things in God's creation can give us a better perspective, setting our eyes on the Lord and His promises can do the same thing, only much better! 

Paul prays in Ephesians 1:18 that, our hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called - his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

This week, let's seek to look at our circumstances through God's perspective, realizing that His big picture for us is flooded with light and filled with confident hope!

ANNOUNCEMENTS​

The Senior's Breakfast is this coming Thursday, February 20th at 9:30 AM at Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre. Join us for great food and fellowship! 1904 13th Ave. North.

The Steve Bell concert is almost here! This Saturday, February 22nd at 7:30 PM at OLC! There are still some tickets available, so grab yours by contacting Pastor Mitchell. $25/person, or you can get them at the door. 10% of the proceeds are going toward the Ethiopia Missions Trip this Summer!

There will be a special Water Baptism Service coming up on Sunday, March 16th at OLC! If you or anyone you know wants to be baptized, talk to Pastor Wanye or contact the church.

The church office will be closed on Monday, February 24th.
